Whoa! What a whirlwind we find ourselves in! Am I the only one spinning with all the unknowns up in the air?

Isn’t it just nice to find a place where one can land for a while and settle in?

When I find myself spinning with all the unknowns, I land when I connect with my personal health coach. I usually start our phone sessions breathing shallow, anxiety high, and thoughts swirling. And by the end, I feel more grounded, serene, organized in my thoughts, and I can finally take deep, slow breaths and get on with my day.

From these sessions I have been able to… begin to… weather the storms of: a pandemic lockdown, losing my job, grieving my dad, living continuously in the unknowns of my kids’ school year (distance, hybrid, in-person - what is it going to be?), and starting my future as an entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry. Can I say it again? “Whoa!”

I started Village Health - and named it as such - because life, it takes a village! This pandemic, wherever it has brought you - it takes a village to thrive, not just survive. Through my sessions with my health coach, we started with outlining basic self-care ideas, implementing them, and naming my support system…

Who did I need to tell about all I was going through and what it was I needed?

I slowly got myself back on track in the self-care arena and then began tackling those nagging emotions of disappointment, grief, etc - emotions that started getting stuck in my body and showing up as physical symptoms of discomfort. Do you know what I mean?

As many have said during this pandemic, we are in a marathon, not a sprint, and we need to connect to our village, ask for support, listen to our bodies to map out and implement our self-care needs, and begin our path to thriving not just surviving. What is it that you need?

At Village Health we offer Intuitive Health Coaching if you are feeling as I did - swirling and needing support - among other health and wellbeing related themes. We also offer private and group Pilates instruction in case you’re feeling the need to breathe, stretch, and move.
